Balance
About
The inspiration for this work came from reflecting on the need for balance in relatively every aspect of our lives. When researching the history of Sydney Olympic Park it was apparent that the indigenous presence that had existed harmoniously with nature for hundreds of years was obliterated with the arrival of European settlers in the latter part of the eighteenth century. Over the next two hundred years this area was exploited and polluted to serve the needs of a growing colony. In recent times since the 1990's and the establishment of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, conservation measures have improved the quality of the once desecrated environment.
This style of work is a dry point, collagraph and colour rollup. It is also a unique state making it the only available print of its kind.
